Welcome to the Snowbabies shop,adorable bundles of fun,created by the talented designer Kristi Jensen Pierro for Department 56,click on image to enlarge.

Kristi's ideas for Snowbabies are inspired by watching children and thinking about her own childhood experiences.She makes rough sketches of her ideas and the refines these into actual illustrations.Next,Kristi makes careful scale drawings-of each side,top and bottom.Along the way,she adds little touches that make each Snowbaby collectible unique.These drawings are then sent to the sculptor who creates a three-dimensional prototype to the exact specifications of her artwork.

So a Snowbaby is born,and since their introduction,Snowbabies have enchanted collectors around the world and have brightened the imagination of all of us who celebrate the gentle play of youthful innocence.

Brand new from store,and a brand new release for 2007,'Kittens Get Into Christmas' Snowbabies musical from Department 56.Fabulous detailed piece,made from the distinctive Snowbabies off white fine bisque porcelain and of course with baby in his 'snowy' suit.The little baby is peeking out of a wooden chest,overflowing with christmas gifts,accompanied by three cute kittens.Lovely piece with lots of nice touches,gold detailing to the corners,handles and lock of the chest,and a present 'dangling' from a satin ribbon on the front.Measures 10.5cm tall,11cm across.Plays 'Deck The Halls' when wound with the mechanism on the base and comes supplied in a Snowbabies branded presentation box.

'Sleep Baby Sleep' musical Snowbabies figurine by Department 56,# 5668611.Brand new from store,and brand new for 2007,beautiful musical Snowbabies figurine.Featuring the little Snowbaby,with his angel wings,sitting on a sparkling base,holding his real,suedette teddy.Teddy wears a real knitted scarf,and the baby holds a real knitted blanket.The base of this piece features the reading 'SLEEP BABY SLEEP' in raised,glittered writing,and contains a wind up mechanism,which when wound plays Brahm's Lullaby,while the top piece gently rotates.Typical matte off white porcelain bisque Snowbabies finish,with of course the baby dressed in his 'snowy' suit.Beautiful,perfect for any collector but would make an especially nice birth or christening gift,12cm tall.Boxed.
